Ahmet Uysal

My research focuses on self and interpersonal processes. I am interested in the antecedents and consequences of strategic/defensive processes. My recent work examines how self-concealment affects well-being in different contexts, using a self-determination theory (SDT) perspective. Second, I am also involved in pain research and recently started investigating defensive self-processes (e.g., self-handicapping, self-concealment) in the context of chronic pain.

Just for reference, my name (Ahmet Uysal) can be pronounced as AH-met OO-ee-sahl.
